Wahkiakum Eagle-March 1998 DAVIS, Carol Jean Age 67, died at the Hospice Care Center in Longview. She was born in Harbine, Neb., to Arthur B. and Clara (Aebig) Wolters, and spent her childhood in Beatrice, Neb., moving to Longview in 1944 at the age of 13. She was a 1948 graduate of R.A. Long High School. She and Roger Davis were married January 27, 1951, in Longview. She worked as a grocery checker at Albertson's and Sinnett's Thriftway in Longview. In 1975, the Davises moved to Cathlamet, and she worked as a teller for Seafirst Bank from 1978 to 1986. She and her husband also spent time in Alaska Ventures Gold Mine as a cook and camp manager in Central, Alaska for six years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved growing flowers, canning, cooking, dancing, square dancing and bowling. She especially loved to root for the Sonics. A son, Alan Davis, died in 1974. Survivors include her husband, Roger, at home; two daughters, Jan Caliman of Cathlamet and Deborah Cannaday of Bonney Lake; three brothers, Morris Wolters of Cathlamet, Don Wolters of Ocean Park and Arthur L. 'Zeke' Wolters of Gresham, Ore.; two sisters, Marion Nisley of Longview and Gerry McKee of Federal Way; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service was held Tuesday at Puget Island Grange with Rev. Irene Martin officiating. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
