The Daily News-19 October 1978 DANIELSEN, Almer Norman 'Elmer' PUGET ISLAND RESIDENT DIES Funeral services were held Saturday at the Norse Hall on Puget Island for Almer 'Elmer' Daniesen, 72, a Puget Island resident since 1918. Danielsen died Wednesday in a Tualatin, Ore., hospital. He was born in Thief River Falls, Minn., he owned and operated the Danielsen shipyards and before his retirement owned and operated both the Puget Island Ferry System and the Puget Island Telephone Company. He was a past master of Pentalpha Masonic Lodge, serving for 16 years as lodge secretary. He also was a member of the Kelso Scottish Rite, Columbia River Shrine Club, Afifi Shrine Temple and was a past member of the Shrine Temple. Surviving are his wife, Helen, of Puget Island; a daughter, Lou Ann Pederson of Longview; three sons, Wilbert J. N. Danielsen of Seattle, the Rev. Elmer 'Ed' Danielsen of Cambridge Springs, Pa., and John Danielsen of Palmer, Alaska; five grandchildren, two brothers, Daniel of Puget Island, Palmer of Seattle; three sisters, Adine Bergseng of Puget Island, Inga Paquette of Milbrae, Calif., and Harriet Hayne of Dupuyer, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Pentalpha Masonic Lodge conducted the Saturday services. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
