The Daily News-Feb. 1989 CRIPPEN, Hazel Marie Age 78, of Longview, died in a Vancouver hospital. She was born at Bandon, Ore., and moved to the local area in 1972 from South Bend, Wash. She was a member of the Cowlitz Valley Moose Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Crippen; a daughter, Gladys Crippen; and a grandson, John D. Slater. Surviving are a daughter, DeLoryce M. Slater of Longview; a son, Eugene Crippen of Longview; a sister, Ruby Hopkins of Longview; a brother, Kenneth Matson of Orting, Wash.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held Tuesday at Longview with Rev. Joseph F. O'Boyle officiating. Steele Chapel at Longview was in charge.
