Published in The Daily News on 8/29/2006. Kenith Cothren 1933 - 2006 Kenith Cothren, 73, of Cathlamet died Aug. 23, 2006. He was born Jan. 17, 1933, in Waldenburg, Ark., to Thirl and Ethel (Dillehay) Cothren. Mr. Cothren was a logging hook tender for Crown Zellerbach for 29 years. He logged for Silver Bay Logging in Yakitat, Alaska, for three years before returning to Cathlamet where he was a cat skinner for Jerry DeBriae Logging until his retirement. He married Mary Vog on Dec. 20, 1983, in Reno, Nev. She survives him. Also surviving are two sons, Ronald Cothren and Ronnie Cothren; two daughters, Susie Cothren and Debbie Olmstead; four brothers, Loman Cothren, Carl Cothren, Drew Cothren and Royal Cothren; five sisters, Meredith Claussen, Cathy Malcolm, Viola Clark, Brenda Settlemeir and Janie Wells; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Dowling Chapel.
