Wahkiakum Eagle-October 1997 COTHREN, Gerald Wade Age 57, of Chehalis, died at Providence Hospital in Centralia. He was born in Hayesville, N. C., to Crint Duell and Eva Edith (DeJarrett) Cothren. In 1952 the family moved to Ryderwood, then to Napavine, where he received his education. He and Betty Jane Byers were married October 18, 1958, and moved to California in 1960. They returned to Lewis County in 1979. Survivors include his wife, Betty, at home; two daughters, Betty Jean Garcia of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Geraldine Kent Mullins of Lake Oswego, Ore.; a son, Jerry, of King Salmon, Alaska; a foster son, Todd Custer of Napavine; four brothers, Gad and G. L., both of Cathlamet, Crint, Jr. of Centralia and General of Winlock; three sisters, Joanne White and Barbara Hoven, both of Napavine, and Margie Luce of Yreka, Calif.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two great-great- granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held Thursday at Sticklin Funeral Chapel.
