Wahkiakum County Eagle-August 1995 Cothren, Crint Former Cathlamet resident and longtime Lewis County resident, age 86, died August 4 in a Chehalis nursing home. He was born December 2, 1908, in Cherokee County, N. C., the son of Gudger Lee and Alice (Rowland) Cothren. He attended school in North Carolina and then moved to Arkansas, where he married Eva DeJarrett on June 1, 1930. The couple moved to North Carolina and then, in 1952, to Ryderwood, where they lived for a short time before moving to Napavine, where they made their home for many years. Mr. Cothren enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed visiting with people and attending the family’s Fourth of July picnic. He is survived by five sons, Gad Cothren and G. L. Cothren, both of Cathlamet, Gerald Cothren of Chehalis, Crint Cothren, Jr. of Centralia and General Cothren of Winlock; three daughters, Joanne White and Barbara Hoven, both of Napavine, and Margie Luce of Yreka, Calif.; a brother, Thirl Cothren of Hayesville, N.C.; 21 grandchildren; 28 great- grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva, in 1993; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; four brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services were held August 8 at Sticklin Funeral Chapel in Centralia with Rev. Wilbur Karch officiating. Burial was at Napavine Cemetery in Napavine.
