Lower Columbia Eagle-July 21, 1960 Services held for Mrs. Hattie Cook Mrs. Hattie Cook, 84, of Skamokawa died July 17 in Cathlamet. She was born in Poland on Oct. 20, 1875, and came to the United States in 1892. She came to Grays River in 1909 from Minnesota and lived in this area since. Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Mary Dass of Vernonia, Oregon, Mrs. Stella Kapron of Cathlamet, Mrs. Annie Hill of Bay Center, Mrs. Helen King of Grays River, Mrs. Ila Johnson of Skamokawa, Mrs. Sophie Magnuson of Rosburg and Mrs. Agnes Simpson of Seattle, two sons, Joe and Lester Cook of Skamokawa; 32 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Skamokawa Methodist Church with Rev. John Freeman officiating. Pallbearers were Archie Dass, Erick Johnson, Bill Hill, John King, Gilbert Magnuson and Donald Magnuson. Interment was at the Fern Hill Cemetery in Skamokawa. The Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
