Wahkiakum Eagle-October 1984 COOK, Anna Mae Age 66, a longtime Skamokawa resident, died in a Portland hospital. She was born at Uma Pine, Ore., and came to Skamokawa from Portland in 1924. She was a homemaker and a member of the Community United Methodist Church of Skamokawa; United Methodist Women, Christian Guild; Mentor Club, Ladies Aid; Highway Club and Skamokawa Cemetery Board. She was also a volunteer at the Wahkiakum County Fair and Columbia View Nursing Home; and a tutor at Wendt Elementary School. She is survived by her husband, Lester Cook, at home; a daughter, Shirley Forquer of Homer, Alaska; a son, Howard Cook of Amboy; her mother, Marie Therkildsen of Skamokawa; three sisters, Margaret Sverdrup and Esther Nichols, both of Longview, and Roberta Hartshorn of Kirkland; a brother, William Therkildsen of Whidbey Island and two granddaughters. Services were Wednesday at the Community United Methodist Church with Rev. Everett Groves and Rev. Lester Soberg officiating. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
