Wahkiakum Co. Eagle-March 2003 CONROD, Barbara Ann Age 72, died of pneumonia at the Longview Hospice Care Center. She was born in Chicago, to Ted and Esther (Lindquist) Chesnut and attended Northern aptist Seminary College for two years. She married Dr. James H. Conrod on July 25, 1950 in Chicago. They moved to the local area in 1959. She was the first principal of Longview Christian School. She wrote the first curriculum for the Early Childhood Education Center and directed children's church. She was a member of Northlake Baptist Church. She enjoyed painting, sewing, travel and collecting Norman Rockwell figurines and plates. She was gracious, loving and patient. Survivors include her husband at home; two sons, James E. of Kelso and Daniel R. of Vancouver; two daughters, Rebecca E. Coleman of Cathlamet and Sharon R. Teats of Richland; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A celebration of her life was held Saturday at Northlake Baptist Church with pastor Mark Schmutz officiating.
