Astoria Newspaper-August 1950 Abigail Fredrika Claeson Mrs. Abigail Claeson, 72, resident of Frankfort, Wash., for the past 30 years, died in a local nursing home Sunday afternoon. She had been ill since the cold spell last winter when she was brought to Astoria by the Coast Guard, and had been in the nursing home for the past 3½ months. Born September 23, 1877, in Fredrickstad, Norway, she came to Canada as an infant. At the age of 7, she came to Astoria and was educated in the public schools here. Mrs. Claeson moved to Frankfort about 30 years ago, and on August 30, 1927, was married in Cathlamet to her surviving husband, Hugo Claeson. Also surviving her are two sisters, Mrs. Emil (Johanna) Kandoll, Rosburg, Wash., and Mrs. Oscar (Mary) Langlois, Coquille, Ore. Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Grays River Seventh Day Adventist church. Elder W. H. McGee, pastor of the Astoria Seventh Day Adventist church will officiate and burial will be in Seal River cemetery. The services are under the direction of the Hughes-Ransom mortuary. Serving as casket bearers will be Ernest, Walter, Richard Kandoll; Marcus and Stanley Monge, and Milton Herold.
