Wahkiakum County Eagle-September 23, 1999 Church, Harold Washington native Harold ‘Hal’ Church, 83, of Long Beach, died September 13, 1999, in Long Beach. Mr. Church was born January 18, 1916, in Chinook, to Steward and Callie (Oller) Church, and attended schools in that area. He worked for Crown Zellerbach logging railroad in Cathlamet for many years. Later he returned to Chinook and worked on the family farm before moving to Long Beach. He enjoyed walks and the Pacific County Fair and attended the Chinook Assembly of God Church. He never married. Survivors include two sisters, Evelyn Larson of Astoria and Geraldine Comstock of St. Helens, Ore.; three brothers, Joe Church of Walla Walla, Ernest Church of Puyallup and Jim Church of Dayton. Private committal was at Ilwaco Cemetery under the direction of Penttila’s Chapel by the Sea in Long Beach.
