Wahkiakum Eagle-February 2001 CHAMBERLAIN, Barbara L. Age 79, of Rosburg, died in Portland just short of her 80th birthday. She was the daughter of Delbert M. and Jessie Weiland Gilpin. At age 18 months she was adopted by William Paige and graduated from Coos Bay, Ore. high school in 1939. She was a graduate of Portland Business College. April 12, 1941 she married Veryl Chamberlain at Oakville. The Chamberlains lived in Washougal from 1941 until 1964 when they moved to Rosburg where they continued operating a dairy farm. She was a member of the Grays River Grange, a card club member and attended the Grays River Methodist church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, pinochle, bingo, bowling, camping, gardening and especially her family. Survivors include her husband at home; a son, Bill and daughter-in- law, Kay of Skamokawa; daughter, Karen and son-in-law, Jim Blain of Benton City; four sisters, Jessie Graham, Florence Graham, Barbara Shaver and Evelyn Martin, all of Yakima; six grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A son, Robert died in 1965. Services were held Wednesday at the Grays River Methodist church. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge. Barbara L.
