Wahkiakum County Eagle-October 1996 Cass, Stanley Edward Stanley Edward Cass, 84, died October 22 at his home in Skamokawa. He was born November 11, 1911, in Rosedale, Ark., to Walter and Gertrude (Wilson) Cass. Mr. Cass worked as a logger for 23 years, employed by several logging companies. He and his wife, Pat, had a dairy farm between Cathlamet and Skamokawa, where they lived from 1950 until 1972. He liked to frame old logging pictures in worn barn boards, which became a paying hobby. He also loved to hunt and fish with special friends. The Casses traveled the flea market circuit, where they enjoyed meeting people. Memberships included the Skamokawa Grange, 45 years, and the Long Beach Elks. The Casses were married December 1, 1946, and would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. Survivors include his wife, Pat, at home; three sons, Dwight Cass of Kennewick, Jeffrey Cass of Vancouver and Royal Cass in Colorado; two daughters, Penny Frase of Onalaska and Pixie Polston of Castle Rock; two sisters, Ruby Dickey of Onalaska and Thelma Pries of Ethel; mother- in-law, Pat Harmonson; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. No services were held. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
