Wahkiakum Eagle-1984 CARLSON, Kathryne Norine Age 75, died in a Portland hospital. She was the daughter of Mynard and Rosemond (Caskey) Groesbeck, Elochoman valley residents. She was a resident of Wauna and graduated from Westport, Ore. high school in 1925 and the University of Oregon in 1929. She lived in Portland most of her life. A registered nurse, she did private and hospital nursing in Portland until 1943, when she joined the Louise Home staff as instructor and later became home supervisor for 21 years. She was married to Edwin C. Carlson in McMinnville, Ore., December 24, 1930. He died in 1979. She was a member of the Calgary Presbyterian church. Survivors include a son, James of Portland; a sister and brother-in- law, Peggy and Jack Martin of Cathlamet; a half-sister, Edith Sterley of East Wenatchee; one granddaughter; two grandsons; one niece; two great nieces; two great-great-nieces; one nephew; three great-nephews and many friends. Services were held at the Calgary Presbyterian church.
