Wahkiakum Eagle-October 2003 BUSSE, Albert O. Age 86, died at his home in Naselle. He was born in Portland, Ore., and was the second oldest of eight children born to Robert and Elida Busse. He moved with his family to Naselle when he was 12, after attending school in Portland. He began working at the CCC Camp in the mid 1930's, then worked the logging industry until his retirement on October 1, 1979. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was well known locally for his smoked fish and homemade sausages. He loved inventing gadgets to accomplish tasks in an easier manner, for instance, a device to fillet fish, to name one. Nothing would make him happier than riding in the woods exploring. Family was of paramount importance to him. A wonderful storyteller, he was the inspiration for his sister, Ruth Busse Allingham's first book, "Glimpses of the Past." He is survived by brothers, Walt and Art of Naselle; sisters, Dorothy McClure of Portland and Ruth Allingham of Seattle; many nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Memorial services were Wednesday at the Naselle Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. Tony Stoutenburg officiating. Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach, was in charge.
