Wahkiakum Eagle-January 1998 BURKHALTER, Carson Gary Life-long Rosburg resident, age 5, died in Chicago, of complications from his second liver transplant. He was born in Longview, the youngest son of Gary and Susan Burkhalter. He lived with his parents on their dairy farm and attended Sunshine Pre-School in Rosburg. Carson loved to play 'farm' with his brothers, liked to drive his toy Jeep, enjoyed rides on the farm tractor with his dad, and looked forward to sleep-overs at his grandparents. He also enjoyed watching movies at home and eating popcorn, one kernal at a time. Throughout his illness he maintained his sense of humor, never complained and always told his mother, 'don't worry.' He wanted to be a cowboy. He is survived by his parents, Gary and Susan Burkhalter of Rosburg; brothers, Kyle and Austin at home; grandparents, Ted and Sally Swanson of Naselle and Robert and Lois] Burkhalter of Rosburg; and great- grandmother, Emma Camenzind of Menlo. Celebration of his life was Saturday, February 7, at Rosburg School. Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach, was in charge.
