Wahkiakum Eagle-August 1998 BUFFINGTON, Warren Emett Age 85, died at his home in Cathlamet. He was born in Forsythe, Mont., to Carson F. and Louise (Moen) Buffington. He had been a commercial fisherman, boat builder, tungsten miner and machinist, and once built a 50 foot steel boat. He and his wife were trollers, fishing on the coasts of California, Washington and Oregon for 25 years. He was an Army veteran of WWII in the European theater. Traveling and genealogy were his pastimes. He was a member of the Puget Island Grange, American Legion and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was a life member of the National Rifle Association. His wife, Aileen, died February 2, 1998. He was also preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include two step-sons, John Marts of Salem, Virg., and Robert Marts of Somers Point, N. J.; six step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services were held Monday at the LDS Church in Cathlamet. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
