They lived in Portland until 1977 when Barry took a job with the Longview Police Department. She graduated from the University of Portland in 1979 with a Bachelors degree in Nursing and worked as a nurse at St. Johns Hospital in Longview until 1983 when she decided to leave nursing and become a full time mother. The family then moved to Puget Island in 1992 where she continued to live except for one year in Moscow, Russia. Bernice was happily married to Barry for 33 years and loved to be with her family. She made just about every basketball game, baseball game, county fair, and horse show any of her three children were a part of The most important thing to Bernice was passing on her faith in God to those around her. She loved Jesus more than most might understand. She knew that she couldn’t prepare people for the difficult things they would most certainly go through, but that with Jesus, she wouldn’t need to. She prayed for her children, family, and friends daily. Bernice was a Proverbs 31:10 kind of a woman. Besides being a professional nurse and full time mother, she found time to be a Home School teacher and assist in the family business. She is survived by her husband, Barry Buehler; daughter and son-in- law Sarah and Kevin Neill, Seattle; daughter Rebecca Buehler, Portland; son Joshua Buehler, Long Beach; parents Dean and Joyce Becker, Portland; sister Carol Becker, Portland; son and daughter-in-law Don and Linda Becker, Renton; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
