Wahkiakum County Eagle-December 1994 Brown, George H. 'Jack' Age 93, a longtime Cathlamet area resident and a Raymond resident for the past six months died Friday, Dec. 9, at the Willapa Harbor Care Center. He was born March 3, 1901, in Oklahoma and had live3d in Cathlamet for many years prior to coming to Raymond. While in Cathlamet, he had been employed at a variety of jobs, including growing of mint, cattle farming, working in lumber yards and for the U.S. Soil Conservation. He was a member of the Cathlamet United Church of Christ, Congregational, The Wahkiakum Historical Society and a long time Grange member. He was also a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of WWI. He was an avid fisherman. His wife Florence died in 1989. He is survived by two nieces, Nita Hansen of Westport and Lucille Richardson of South Bend and two nephews, Alfred Richardson of Naselle and Mel Brown of Raymond. Memorial services were held Tuesday at the Congregational church in Cathlamet. The Rev. Joan Ham officiated. Inurnment was beside his wife at the Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet.
