Wahkiakum Eagle-January 2, 2003 Cathlamet, Wahkiakum, WA Earl Harold Brown, 73, died at his Skamokawa home, December 27, 2002 after a long illness. He was born March 11, 1929 at Mountain Home, Ida., the son of Pearly W. and Nellie A. (Dodge) Brown. He had lived in Skamokawa since 1959 when he moved here from Idaho where he attended school. August 2, 1948, he married Ann Rowe in Ophir, Colo. He worked for Crown Zellerbach Corp. driving log trucks and fuel trucks generally from 1946 to 1992 when he retired. He was a member of the IWA #311. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and prospecting for gold and was a traveler and camper, he liked to square dance. Survivors include his wife at home; two sons, Kerry of Longview and Barry of Skamokawa; one daughter, Rhonda Rose of Winnemuca, Nev.; five brothers, John Brown, Jerry Brown and Vince Brown of Boise, Ida., Harvey Brown of Loman, Ida., and Warren Brown of Seattle; four sisters, Dora Reynolds of Burley, Ida., Nellie Jean Mills of Boise, Verna Lambert of Seattle and Shirley Heath of Glenns Ferry, Ida.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Friday from the United Church of Christ of Cathlamet with Rev. Gregg Kammann officiating. Interment and committal at Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under direction of Dowling Funeral Home, Cathlamet.
