Wahkiakum Eagle- Dec 1999 or Jan 2000 BORUCKI, Neska LaVonne Age 70, died at her Naselle residence. She was born in Philomath, Ore., the daughter of Walter and Jessie (Lockett) Skaggs. She was raised in the Philomath area and graduated from high school in Alsea, Ore. She attended Oregon State university for several years. She lived in several areas throughout Oregon and Washington during her lifetime. In 1970 she settled in Naselle. An artisan, she expressed her many interests in Jewelry, oil painting, lapidary, ceramics and pottery. In later years she became a breeder of pit bull dogs and was founder of the Southwest Washington Pit Bull club. She also authored several books on pit bulls. She enjoyed dog shows, computers, cooking and time spent with nature in the surrounding hills. Knowledgeable on many subjects, her family will remember her as generous to a fault, loving and accepting of others, a lady who lived her own life. She was married to Gordon Stanturf and later divorced. Married to Jan Borucki, he died in 1993. In 1996, she married Donny Curtis and he survives at the family home. Also surviving are daughters, Linda Stanturf of Wrangell, Alaska and Florence 'Penny' Hall of Brookeland, Tex.; son, John Stanturf of Vancouver; sisters, Carmi Link of Auburn, Meta Means of Kennewick, Meissia Smith of Albany, Ore., Juana Goodrich of Trezevant, Tenn., Justine Tate of Lakeside, Ore., Carol Hanson of Coos Bay, Ore., and Marjorie Courtney of Crooked River Ranch, Ore.; brother, Nye Skaggs of Springfield, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A sister died earlier. Memorial services were Wednesday at Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach.
