Wahkiakum County Eagle-September 16, 1999 Blain, Frank Lafayette Franklyn Lafayette Blain, Grays River, died September 8, 1999, at his Grays River home. He was 71 years old. Mr. Blain was born December 21, 1927 at Mt. Pleasant, Mich., the son of Roland D. and Leona B. Griffith Blain. He received his education there and served in the Navy during World War II. On October 24, 1946 he married Edna Clay in Portland and after spending some time in Los Angeles moved to Grays River in 1949 where he worked for Crown Zellerbach, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the American Legion Post 111 of Deep River. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, square dancing and playing pool. Survivors include his wife at home; two sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Laura Blain of Grays River and James and Karen Blain of Benton City; two daughters, Trudy L. Blain of Rainier, Ore., and Sylvia Lorraine McNally of Cathlamet; nine grandchildren; five great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services were Saturday at Dowling Chapel with Rev. Ken Hammer officiating. Private interment was at the Grays River cemetery. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
