Wahkiakum Eagle-October 1985 Julia Nina Berg Age 81, of Ketchikan, Alaska, died in a Ketchikan hospital. She was born at Oak Point, Wa. She had lived in Alaska since 1925, but also maintained a home on Puget Island. She had been a homemaker and taught school on Puget Island for two years. She also taught in Alaska for 10 years. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in both Puget Island and Ketchikan, and a member of the Pioneer Auxiliary of Ketchikan. She was a charter member of the North Tongass Community Club and a member of the Tuesday Club on Puget Island. She is survived by her husband, Arne, at home; two daughters, Julie McKinley of Cathlamet and Connie Orr of Burien; one son, Robert Berg of Seward, Alaska; three brothers, Sverre Pedersen of Puget Island, Radar Pedersen of Portland and Ernest Pedersen of Longview; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services were Tuesday, with Rev. Ruth Mathis officiating.
