Wahkiakum Eagle-April 1977 BENSON, Ella Statire Age 86, died Monday in a Portland hospital. She was born in Skamokawa and lived there all her life until she moved to Portland 20 years ago following the death of her husband, John J. Benson. She was a member of the Redman Lodge and the Pocahontas. Survivors include: a daughter, Marjorie Busin of Portland; two sisters, Emily Bjornsgaard of Portland, Ellis Overturf of Milwaukie, Ore.; a brother, Herman Ellison of Skamokawa; 1 grandson, John Gray Sr. of Portland; 3 great- grandchildren, John Gray, Jr., US Marine corps, Linda Gray of Portland, and Cathy Gee of Portland. Funeral services were held Saturday at the United Methodist church in Skamokawa with Rev. Everett Groves officiating. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
