The Cathlamet Gazette-December 26, 1890 BELL, William R. Wm. R. Bell of Crooked Creek, aged 42 years, died suddenly last Monday. The deceased leaves a widow and six children, the youngest being four and the eldest fifteen years. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the unfortunate ones left behind. Mr. Bell was a good citizen, a kind father and a warm friend. His death came more suddenly than was expected, though he had been in feeble health for years. J. J. Casey came over to Astoria Monday afternoon to get a doctor and left Tuesday morning with Dr. Estes, but it was too late. Probably Eden Valley Cemetery-Eden Valley, Wa. ca. 1848- 22 Dec 1890 (As transcribed by the Wahkiakum County Historical Society Museum-May have had a wooden marker. Territory census records show a Wm. Bell living in Crooked Creek in the 1885 and 1887 census records that is a close match to the obituary record.)
