Wahkiakum Eagle- February 2001 BAUERLE, Keneth Gene Age 51, died in Portland. He was the sixth child born to Edward G. Bauerle and Edith Stockwell in Iselin, New Jersey. Ken's family moved numerous times throughout his growing up years. He lived in several states, but graduated from Red Bluff High School in Red Bluff, Calif. After high school, Ken joined the Naval Reserves anfd served active duty for two years including a tour in Vietnam. Ken moved to Santa Clara, Calif. after high school and began employment in the utility field. It was in Santa Clara he met Debra Smithem and they were wed October 20, 1973. They moved to Eugene, Ore. in 1977 and resided there until 1984. From there they moved to Portland and resided there until 1996. Cathlamet was then their home for three years until they had to return to Portland for medical care. While in Eugene, Ken received his BS in Public Administration from the University of Oregon. It was at this time he grew 'Web Feet' and his loyalties to the Ducks began! Ken served actively in any community he lived. He held several different positions of service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. He coached youth sports, was a Boy Scout Leader, supported schools in extra curricular activities such as drama and choir, served as NWPPA president, was on the board of Riverside Community Services, served on the Chamber of Commerce, and generally supported civic and community activities. Ken loved to sing and was often involved with church and community choirs and music. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Debra. His son, KC, 26, daughter, Shannon, 24 and son, Kevin, 22 years of age also survive him. He leaves behind his only grand-child, Madison Porter, age five; two brothers and four sisters. His mother also survives him. Numerous cousins, and nephews and nieces will miss him greatly. Services were held on March 3, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Hillsboro, Ore.
