Wahkiakum Eagle-April 2000 Andring, Mabel Lela Age 80, a Long Beach resident, died in Ilwaco. She was one of eight children born to Ole and Carla (Erstad) Johnson, and was born in LaCenter. She grew up in LaCenter, attending both grade school and high school there. She married Mark Andring on December 14, 1935 in Vancouver. Their first home was in Naselle where he worked in the woods. They lived in Naselle until retirement in 1976 when they moved to Long Beach. He died in 1990. She was a homemaker throughout her marriage, but gave freely of her time and efforts to area organizations. While living in Naselle she was a member of the Community church. She was a member of Pacific Chapter No. 129 Order of Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron in 1974-75 and again in 1977-78. She also was a Grand Representative to Oregon and was formerly a member of the Ladies of Long Beach Elks No. 1937. Hobbies included both crocheting and knitting and she also enjoyed her flower garden. Surviving are sisters, Laura Johnson of Battle Ground and Martha Mitchell of Blodgett, Ore.; numerous nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. Memorial service was held Saturday at Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach.
