Wahkiakum Eagle-April 2003 Caleen Joyce Anderson Naselle resident, died in Astoria. She was the only child of Kelvin and Mary (Trebble) Davison, and was born in Seattle. At an early age she moved to Altoona, attended Rosburg grade school, and was a 1951 graduate of Naselle High school. She married her high school sweetheart Russel Anderson on December 14, 1951 in Kelso. He was stationed in the US Army Air Force in Oklahoma where the couple lived until after the war. Returning to the local area they lived in Altoona and Salmon Creek before settling in Naselle. She was a clerk for Appelo's Grocery in Grays River and Naselle and later a secretary for Appelo's Insurance until retirement. She was raised in the Lutheran faith and was a member of VFW Auxiliary of Naselle. An avid reader, she enjoyed gardening and clamming and as a mother and homemaker she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, canning and berry picking from which she made jam and wine. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Sheryl and John Waisanen of Astoria, Joyce and Dale Kilponen of Naselle and Denise and Rick Stelzig of Tillamook, Ore.; seven grandchildren and one great- granddaughter. Her husband died December 22, 2002. Graveside services were Wednesday at the cemetery. Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach, was in charge.
