The Daily News-January 1980 Berger Ivar Anderson Age 88, of Skamokawa, died in a Cathlamet nursing home. He was born in Lysvik, Sweden, and came to the Skamokawa-Grays River area in 1912. He worked on logging railroad engines until 1941, when he moved to Portland and became a mill fireman. He retired in 1961 and returned to Skamokawa to live with his son. Survivors include two sons, Victor of Skamokawa and Herbert of Bay Center, Wash., 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held Wednesday at the cemetery in Skamokawa, with Rev. Everett Groves officiating. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
