Wahkiakum Eagle-June 1999 Audrey Jeanne Anderson Age 70, died at her home in Skamokawa. She was born in Oneida, N.Y., to John E. and Sadie G. (Clark) Moonen. The family moved frequently during her childhood, coming to Skamokawa in 1941. She was a salutatorian at Skamokawa High School in 1946. That same year, on December 7, she married Victor Anderson in Skamokawa. When she was in high school she worked at Cathlamet Variety Store, and as a young woman worked at the cannery in Altoona. She became a clerk in the Wahkiakum County Assessor's Office, where she worked from 1968 to 1974. A community-minded person, she passed that feeling on to her children. She was a member of the United Methodist church, the Christian Guild, the Methodist Youth Foundation and 4-H Club in her youth, and the Wahkiakum PTA as a young mother. She also spent time as a school librarian. Her husband Victor, died in November 1996. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Jack, Ralph, Roy and Stub, and two sisters, Jane Bower and Nina Davis. Survivors include two sons, John of Kelso and Rick of Skamokawa; two daughters, Vickie Reed of Tonasket and Sue Cotter of Kelso; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held Saturday at the cemetery. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
