The Eagle-May 25, 1951 Naselle Man Found Dead At Log Boom Arthur Eddy Anderson, 58, was found dead on a log boom in Grays river, near Rosburg, early Tuesday morning after failing to return home at Naselle following Monday night’s work. Cause of death is being investigated by Mitchell Doumit, county coroner. Mr. Anderson, who worked for the Torppa-Badger Logging Co., remained at the boom after work Monday and apparently died some time in the evening. Anderson was a logger, rancher and fisherman and active in the Production Marketing Administration in Wahkiakum county. He was born in Astoria on Jan. 10, 1893, and resided at Naselle since 1918. He was also a former baseball player. Survivors include the widow, Bessie; three sons, Earl, Delbert and Curtis, of Naselle; three daughters, Jeanette Anderson of Venice, Calif., Mrs. Frances Moss and Mrs. Floyd Mattson of Naselle; six grandchildren; two brothers, Hjalmer of Naselle and Walter of Astoria. Services were held Thursday at the Naselle Congregational church under the direction of Hughes-Ransom mortuary. The Rev. Ellis Koven officiated and burial was in the Peaceful Hill cemetery. Serving as casket bearers were Walter Davis, Arvo Davis, William Davis, Otto Hill, Oscar Hansen and John Stenholm.
