Wahkiakum Eagle-October 1999 Amy Irene Anderson Age 70, died at her Naselle residence. She was born in Mayger, Ore., the daughter of Arvid and Selma (Haataja) Jarvi. She grew up and received her education in Mayger, and worked on her uncle's dairy farm as a teenager. On February 18, 1947, she married Henry Anderson in Kelso. They lived in the John Day area east of Astoria for several years. They then lived in Rosburg where Amy raised her family. She moved to Naselle two years ago. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, home canning, fish smoking, crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She was happiest when she was outdoors, cutting firewood to her exacting dimensions. She loved her family and grandchildren. Her husband died in 1993. Surviving are daughters, Kathy Crayne of Big Timber, Mont., and Sharon Bighill of Lincoln City, Ore.; sons, Bruce of Lompoc, Calif., and Brian of Long Beach; brothers, Arnie Jarvi of Deep River and Vernon Jarvi of Keyport; sisters, Bernice Martin of Winlock and Helen Sundberg of Astoria; and six grandchildren. At her request, no service was held. Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach, was in charge.
