Wahkiakum County Eagle-June 1995 Anderson, Alberta Age 75, of Cathlamet, died June 29 at the Hospice Care Center. She was born April 17, 1920, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Ernest and Henrietta (Isert) Spitzer, and came to the United States from Canada at age 7. She graduated from Kelso High School, and lived in Winlock for 12 years. She worked in several nursing homes as a nurses’ aide, and at a nursing home in Cathlamet for many years. She was a long-time member of the Puget Island Orthopedic Hospital Guild, for which she enjoyed sewing layettes. She liked working in her yard, especially with her flowers. and enjoyed her family. Her first husband, Art Olsen, died in 1966, and her second husband, Cooney Anderson, died in 1985. Survivors include two daughters, Kerry Quigley of Cathlamet and Gail Brewer of Santee, Calif.; a step-daughter, Susie Ciarfella of Tacoma; a son, Keith Olsen of Hemet, Calif.; a step-son, Mark Anderson of Seattle; four sisters, Louise Fransen of Tillamook, Ore., Edith Trotter and Henrietta Johnson, both of Clatskanie, and Kathleen Siltala of Rainier; two brothers, Ernest Spitzer, Jr. of Woodland, Calif., and William Spitzer of Ridgefield; three grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Earline Jacobson, in 1953; a granddaughter, Nanette Mahnke, in 1995; and a great-grandson, Dillon Quigley, in 1992. The graveside services were Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery with Pastor Cliff Weimer officiating. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
