The Daily News-February 1981 Jacob Emil Alsaker Age 83, of Long Beach, Wash., died in Ilwaco. He was born in Norway, and had been a resident of the peninsula area for the past 50 years. He received his education in Norway and came to the United States in 1923 at the age of 26. On March 7, 1931 he was married to Martha Mathisen, and they established their home in Long Beach where he was a carpenter and cranberry farmer. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary next month. He was a member of the Sons of Norway in Astoria, Carpenter's Union Local 1707 in Longview; Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chinook and the Cranberry Association. He is survived by his wife, Martha, at home; five sisters, Petra Anderson, Ingeborg Alsaker, Ragna Alsaker, Anna Inland and Johanna Alsaker Bjorlo, all of Norway; one brother, Olav Alsaker of Norway; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Chinook Lutheran Church. Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach, was in charge.
