Mattie Beatrice Allen

  Age 89, died in a Longview hospital.  She was born in St. Jones, 
Calif.  She and her late husband, Rev. Robert Allen, came to Cathlamet 
in 1925.  He was a minister in the Congregational Church until 1929, 
when he took a church in Weaverville, Calif., later returned to their 
home in Portland in 1958.  After Rev. Allen's death in May 1966, she 
returned to Cathlamet to make her home.  She was a member of the 
Cathlamet Congregational Church.
  Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Myers of Condon, Ore., and 
Ora Snyder of Cathlamet; one brother, Louie Evans of Sacramento; one 
sister, Mrs. Carl Froman of Ashland, Ore; five grandchildren; 12 great-
grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be held Monday with Rev. Bernard Herrick 
officiating.  Graveside services will be held Tuesday at the cemetery 
with Rev. Warren Thomas officiating.
