Unknown newspaper-December 1996 Adair, Irma Alta Irma Alta Adair, 64, of Naselle, died December 7 in a Seattle hospital. She was born May 4, 1931, in York, Neb., to George and Lillie (Van Kleek) DeBoer, and when she was 9 her family moved to the Chehalis area. She attended schools in Adna, graduating from Adna High School. On December 3, 1949, she and Robert Adair were married in Rockport, while he was serving in the Air Force. The couple later moved to Victorville, Calif., and after his discharge they returned to Chehalis. They later moved to Ariel and finally to Naselle in 1969. She served on the election board in Naselle for many years. Mrs. Adair was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and quilting and always opened her home to people. She was active in the Naselle Assembly of God and in the church women’s groups. She leaves her husband of 46 years, Robert; a daughter, Lillie Shetler of Birkenfeld, Ore.; two sons, Dewey Adair of Raymond and Carl Adair of Seattle; her mother, Lillie Gowen of Chehalis; two brothers, Addison DeBoer of Chehalis and Wendell DeBoer of Bellevue; a sister, Judy Hartman of Puyallup; and seven grandchildren. The funeral services were Wednesday at Naselle Assembly of God. Private interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Chehalis. Penttila’s Chapel by the Sea was in charge.
