No. 4 Cathlamet, Wahkiakum County, Washington-Page 1 Superior Court Notes A special session of the Superior Court was held here last Thursday, April 4th Judge H. W. B. Hewen on the bench. Only one case was heard by the court, E. M. Whitten et al. vs. A Silverman et al. regarding contest of election held in Diking District No. 2. Many witnesses gave testimony at the trial. No decision was made at this time, the court taking the matter under advisement. Mrs. Anna Vog of Puget Island filed an application for a mother’s pension. The court allowed her a mother’s pension in the sum of $30.00 per month. She is a widow and has four minor children. The claims of the dike commissioners, Diking District No. 1, Puget Island, for compensation for services rendered during the year 1917 was taken up by the court and the claims allowed in the following sums, towit: John C. Peterson, $96.00; A. W. Lundquist, $76.50 and Ole Skreslet, $69.85. (As transcribed by the Wahkiakum County Historical Society 2005 from original newspaper collection.)
