School Closes May 25; 24 in Class

 

On Friday, May 18, in the high school gymnasium, the Class of 1945 will hold their class day exercises.  Baccalaureate will be held in the Congregational church with the service being conducted by Rev. W. W. Head on May 20, at eleven o’clock.  The Commencement exercises will be May 21, in the gymnasium.  They will start at 8:00 p.m.

 

The program Commencement is as follows:

 

Processional-High School band.

Invocation-Rev. W. W. Head.

Piano Solo-Terry Ysland.

America of the Future-Commencement theme, Mary Thompson, salutatorian.

The Foundation of Our Democracy-Margaret Orth.

Horizons Unlimited-Yvonne Irving.

A New Security-Mary Fletcher.

Not to Destroy, But to Create-Leroy Maki, valedictorian.

Girls’ Glee Club-Estrellita, accompanied by Miss Betty Page.

Introduction of Speaker-Julius Wendt.

Address-Joe Chandler.

Quartette-Calm as the Night, accompanied by Miss Betty Page.

Presentation of Class of Diplomas-Julius Wendt.

Presentation of Diplomas-Ernest B. Foster.

Benediction-Rev. W. W. Head.

Star Spangled Banner-High School band.

Recessional-High School band.

The Glee Club and Quartette are directed by Miss Betty Page and the band by R. R. Willoghby.
