Unknown Publication-Probably Skamokawa Eagle-1904 Skamokawa, Wahkiakum County, Washington A crew of bolt cutters from the Toutle river in Cowlitz county, arrived yesterday morning. They were met by Sanferd D. Whitten who took them out to the Howell camp where they started work at once. More men are expected soon. The Howell Shingle Company have commenced work on their new plant. A part of the lumber and piling arrived Saturday and Alfred Lund is now engaged driving the piling. The company is engaging a large crew of bolt cutters and will soon be running bolts. Mr. Howell informs us it is his wish to employ all the home labor he can, which will be a good thing for Skamokawa people. (As transcribed by the Wahkiakum County Historical Society)
