Columbia River Sun-April 11, 1918 Vol. XVII. No. 4 Cathlamet, Wahkiakum County, Washington-Page 1 Cook Displeases Men The cook at the logging camp of the Cathlamet Timber Co. was the cause of stirring up the wrath of the husky loggers at the institution last Saturday. The Cathlamet Timber Co. gives its employees the best there is in eats, but the “Mulligans,” etc. that the said cook set before those huskies was more than they could stand and it good on their nerves. Saturday morning the boys informed the “boss” that there would be nothing doing in the tall timber until the cook was canned and another cook put in his place. Consequently Superintendent Martin immediately put on his store clothes and struck out for Portland in quest of a cook that could cook. He found such a person and hired right back to camp, accompanied by the new cook. The boys are at work again and everything is running smoothly.
