Columbia River Sun-Thursday, April 14, 1910 EDITORIALS The appointment by the county Commissioners of J. C. Hughes of Skamokawa as County Auditor to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Joseph Girard is one that will meet the approval of the residents of the county. Mr. Hughes is a young man of clean habits. He has been a resident of Skamokawa for 5 years past. His family consists of a wife (formerly Miss Alice Williams, daughter of one of Skamokawa’s most respected citizens, Editor S. G. Williams of the Eagle) and a young daughter.
