Wahkiakum Co. Eagle-March 07, 1974 TWO ARE VICTIMS OF MONDAY ACCIDENT Tim Anderson, 14, and Jason Anderson, 2, drowned Monday when a family car Tim was driving careened off the East Valley road east of the Lindsey residence and into Skamokawa creek. The accident apparently occurred at approximately noon when the auto spun out of control and slid backwards into the creek. A third occupant of the vehicle, a 17-year-old Skamokawa youth, was able to escape by opening the passenger door, which was ripped off on impact. After attempting to dive for the boys three times, he left the scene when he was unable to locate Tim and Jason in the murky water. Meanwhile, passerby, Virginia Naehe of Skamokawa, discovered the vehicle’s wheel protruding from the creek and reported the accident to the sheriff’s office at 12:25 p.m. Authorities were on the scene by 12:40 and the bodies were recovered, still in the vehicle, at approximately 1 p.m. Tim was born in Grand Rapids, Minn., and Jason in Longview. Tim was a freshman at Wahkiakum High school. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Anderson of Skamokawa; one brother, Kenneth, at home; two sisters, Lori Ann and Lisa Kay, also at home; their maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Brockway of Skamokawa; a grandmother, Mrs. Alfred Larry of North Lewisburg, Ohio; and their great-grandmother, Mrs. Fox of Springfield, Ohio.
