Everett Daily Herald December 3, 1910 Josie RAE, the youngest daughter of Constable and Mrs. J. P. RAE, died at the family residence yesterday. She is survived by her parents and two sisters, Mrs. J. M. ORDWAY and Mrs. A. W. CAMPBELL. Private funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon. Everett Daily Herald 4/7/1919 Mrs. Josephine Rea, wife of J.P. Rea, of this city died last night in Seattle at the age of 76 years. Mrs. Rea resided in Snohomish for 31 years and was a member of the Womens Relief Corps. She leaves a large circle of friends. Mrs. Rea is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. J.M. Ordway and Mrs. Archie Campbell, and one great-grandaughter, Miss Odessa Benham. The ladies of the W.R.C. will conduct funeral services tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Purdy & Sons's chapel Interment will be made in the G.A.R. cemtery. Rea, 85 years old, a well known resident of Snohomish died this mroning at 1:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter Mrs. J.M. Ordway at 328 Maple street following a stroke of paralysis a week ago. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Purdy & Sons chapel, the Rev. Charles Baird officiating, interment will be in G.A.R. cemetery. Mr. Rea was born in Cabet Vt. Thirty six years ago he came to Snohomish and engaged in carpentry. Later he went into the draying business. For several years he was postoffice route messenger landing the pouches between the railway depot and the postoffice. Prior to three years ago since which time he was not active, he was truant officer for the school district. He was a member of Snohomish Aerie 125 F.O.E. nineteen years. Surviving Mr. Rea are two daughters Mrs. Ordway and Mrs. A.W. Campbell of Snohomish; two grandaughters Mrs. Jessie Benham of Seattle and Mrs. Sadie Pinkerton, two great grand children and one brother Charles Rea of Andover, Ma. and one sister Mrs. Alice Deardorn of Andover, Ma. Everett Daily Herald 12 October 1910 Mrs. Sarah REES, living at Marsh Land, near Snohomish, passed away Monday morning after a short illness, aged 29 years. She leaves besides her husband, two small children, father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph BOUND, two brothers and eight sisters, all living near by. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the residence. The internment will be in Marsh Land cemetery under the direction of Maulsby & Sons. Fox, wife of Luther Fox of Park Place passed away at the Aldercrest sanitarium on Tuesday night of this week. Mary Roberts was born in Monroe, February 27, 1884, and was 43 years old at the time of her death. Her illness dates back several years. When her condition became serious, she went to Aldercrest in the hope that she migh recover and again be able to take her place with her family. Such however was not to be. Mrs. Fox was a patient sufferer throughout all her long illness and died calmly and with hope of a future life beyond the grave. She leaves to mourn her passing her aged mother, Mrs. Mary Roberts of Park Place, two sisters, a brother, four children, Robert, Lester, Raymond and Queen and her husband, all at home. The Monitor with many friends here where she was born and reared extend sympathy to the bereaved husband, children and other relatives. The funeral is in charge of Purdy and Sons, and will be held from the Purdy chapel tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. Rev. P. H. Raymond of Mount Vernon will preach the funeral sermon. ROBERTS NOTES Flora Cassie Roberts was born 2-5-1875 (death cert date)(1877 family historical date) in Lancaster, Schuyler Co, MO, married Frank Catron (in 1906 in St. Louis, IL?) Moved to Everett, WA before 1912 (her father, Charles Roberts, died that year and she paid for the burial) (Mothers name was Algebertha Jane Wallace d. 1904. She is listed on the death cert as Elija Jane Wallace) Flora died 4-14-1959 at 2 West McGill in rural Everett. Age 84 and the name on the death cert. is Floy Catherine Catron, the informant was Mrs. Beulah Wise, 2 West McGill, Everett. (from cmsminihorses@centurytel.net ) Everett Daily Herald 13 September 1902 Little Lillian Robinson Dead Lillian, the 9-year-old daughter of C. D. Robinson, manager of Bruhn and Henry's store, died at an early hour this morning from peritonitis from which she had been an intense sufferer for over a week. For several days the doctors despaired of saving her life, but Thursday morning she seemed much better and there were hopes that she was convalescing. Yesterday she began to grow worse and the end came shortly after midnight. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Congregational church. Everett Daily Herald December 14, 1910 Mrs. Carl RODD, died this morning at the age of 55 years at the family residence, 1310 Wall street, after an illness of four months. She is survived by her husband and nine children, Mrs. Anna HEXBERG, Inga, Frank, George, Lewis, Edward, Albert, Edward, Bertha and Viola RODD. The deceased was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Everett Daily Herald December 17, 1910 The funeral of Mrs. RODD, will be held Sunday at noon from the Norwegian Synod church, 2930 Lombard, instead of from Maulsby's Chapel. Everett Daily Herald October 8, 1910 John RODENBUSH, a veteran of the Civil War, died yesterday evening at the advanced age of 79 years. He was a member of company C Thirtieth Missouri volunteers. He was born in Pennsylvania. His son, John RODENBUSH, is manager of the Snohomish Milk condensery. The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 o'clock from Moran's chapel. Monroe Monitor 7 October 1927 Harry Ross, age 29, was instantly killed while at work for the Puget Sound Power & Light company as lineman at Coupeville, on Monday afternoon at two o'clock. Surviving him are his wife and two children, Betty Mae, two years of age and Harry Robert, five and a half months; his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Ross, two brothers, Albin and Occo Ross, and sisters, Vern Ross, Mrs. Mervin Ripple, all of Ephrata and one sister, Mrs. C. L. Schick of Monroe. Funeral servives were held at the chapel of the Home Funeral parlors Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. E. J. Bates, officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery, Monroe. Everett Sun dated 1891 (no obit was found for Ruff) George C. Ruff Auditor of Snohomish county was born in Baltimore, Md of German parents on 11-14-1814. Mr. Ruff recieved the advantage of a common school education in his native city. During the civil war at the age of 17 he was enlisted in the regular army and was assigned to Light Battery A. of the Second regiment of the United States Artillery and served his term of three years in the Army of the Potomac. He was discharged from the service on June 20 of 1865 at expiration of enlistment. Mr. Ruff has been a resident of Snohomish city since 3-10-1886 and was employed as yardman and salesman for Blackman Bros, a little three and a half years. After their old saw mill was destroyed by fire, we next had him in the employment of the Snohomish Mfg. Co. At the last election he was nominated for Auditor on the democratic ticket and was elected by a large majority. George C. Ruff died 8-11-1897 age 53 said born in Md. In Phoebe A. Ruff obit notes dauther Mrs. Jellison and two sons but did not name them. Everett Herald 1 September 1977 Amy Russell, 98, of Sultan, died Sept. 1 in Monroe. Funeral services Saturday, 2 p.m., in the Sultan Community Methodist Church under the direction of the Purdy and Kerr Chapel, Monroe.
