Everett Daily Herald 7-6-1926 Civil War Veteran Died at Lake Home Thomas Clark Lampman, 79 years old a veteran of the Civil war died Thursday at the home of his grandson Charles W. Funk in Lake Roesiger district where he resided the past two years. Mr. Lampman served in Battery C, First Ohio artillery. He came to this county from Colorado. He is survived by a son, John Lampman of Ohio and a daughter, Mrs. Carrie Callar of Lake Roesiger. Funeral services will take place Saturday at 2 p.m. from C.H. Bakeman's chapel. The Rev. L.W. Callar Carrie 65 Jan-19-1941 "burial No 2733 Monroe Monitor 4 September 1952 Mrs. Sarah C. Lamson Taken By Death Mrs. Sarah C. Lamson, age 76, died September 9 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Ramaley. Mrs. Lamson was born in St. James, Missouri on September 8, 1876. She came west in 1898 to Sumas, Washington and was married soon afterwards to Earl Winfred Lamson. In 1910, they moved to Yakima where they lived for a number of years, taking up a homestead in the East Selah district. They came to Monroe to make their home in 1944, where Mr. Lamson died four months later. Mrs. Lamson has lived alone at her home on 306 Powell street until her recent illness. Mrs. Lamson's life was full of interesting events and her many friends enjoyed the stories of the early days and the settler's hardships. She is survived by a son, Earl Frederick Lamson of Tacoma, one daughter, Mrs. Jeannette Ramaley of Route One, Monroe, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, at 1 p.m. at the Purdy and Kerr Funeral Home in Monroe. The Rev. Fred Hunt will officiate, and cremation will follow at Washelli. Everett Herald 5 September 1977 Louis Joseph LaVoie, 71, of 27106 104th Dr NW, Stanwood, died Sept. 3. He was born April 4, 1906 in Cloquet, Minnesota, and had lived in this area for the past 36 years. He is survived by his wife, Carrie, of the home; sons, Allen LaVoie of Denver, Colorado, Raymond LaVoie of Lebanon, Oregon; daughter Carol Vandewar of East St. Louis, Missouri; step-sons Doland Hammond of Olympia, Darrell Hammond of Everett; step-daughter, June Brison of Monroe; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Celia Goerlich of Everett, Mrs. Helen Rau of Wisconsin and Jenny Halverson of Duluth, Minnesota. Memorial services will be Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Purdy and Walters. Everett Daily Herald December 13, 1910 Mrs. Emeline LeDUE died yesterday morning at her home in Three Lakes, aged 31 years. She leaves a husband and four children, one a baby three weeks old. The funeral will (not legible) this afternoon. Internment was in the G. A. R. cemetery. Everett Herald 1 September 1977 Erma D. Leque, 62, of 18630 94 Dr. NW, Stanwood, died Thursday, Sept. 1 at a Mount Vernon hospital. She was born Oct. 31, 1914, at Warm Beach, and had lived in this area most of her life. She was married to Nolan Leque on Dec. 8, 1931, and was a member of the Greenwood Garden Club, Warm Beach Fire Belles, Cascade Democratic Women's Club, and had been a member of the Greenwood Grange for about 30 years. She leaves her husband, Nolan, at home; two sons, Robert and Gary both of Stanwood; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Beverly) Kerns of Stanwood; Mrs. Robert (Linds) Sund of Marysville and Mrs. Ernest (Donna) Dickey of Anchorage, Alaska; four brothers, Gerald Ross and Alvin Ross, both of Marysvcille, Raymond Ross and Damon Ross, both of Stanwood; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral servives will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Chapel of Filberson Funeral Home, with Rev. L. W. Kiser officiating. Burial will be in the family section of Anderson Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Warm Beach Fire Department. Everett Herald 7 September 1977 Margaret Scanlon Lincoln, 63, of 314 3rd Ave. South, Edmonds, died Sept. 5 in Seattle. She was born April 17, 1914 in Seattle. She was a member of the Hly Rosary Catholic Church, Edmonds, active in the YLI and had worked for the Washington State Bar Association a numver of years. She leaves her husband John D., of the home; two sons, John Blaise Lincoln of Morro Bay, alifornia, and Thomas H. Lincoln of Edmonds; daughter, Marybeth Rothbun of Morro Bay, alifornia, and three brothers, Edward V. Scanlon of Edmonds, Thomas L. Scanlon of Salem, Oregon and John W. Scanlon. Rosary Vigil, Friday, 7:30 p.m., in the Chapel of Beck's Fun eral Home, Edmonds. Mass of the Christian Burial 9:30 a.m., Saturday at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Edmonds, interment at Floral Hills Cemetery. Everett Daily Herald 4-7-1919 Charles B. Love, a veteran of the Civil war and a well known resident of this city died at 5 o'clock this morning following an illness lasting for three months. Love was 83 years old last July 4. He had made Snohomish his home for 12 years and was a member of Morton Post #10 G.A.R. He served in the Union army four years and nine months with the Second Ohio cavalry and was in the important battles of Chancellorsville, Wilderness and of the Shenandoah valley, serving during the latter part of the war in the Custer and Sheridan campaign. Love is survived by two sons, A.J. Love, of St. John's Mich. And George Love, and one sister Mrs. Oliver Brown. The body lies at C.H. Bakeman's undertaking parlors, funeral arrangements awaiting word from the son in Wyoming. Morton Post Resolve Since our last regular meeting Comrade, Charles B. Love, was relieved of the cares and suffering of this life at the home of his son A.J. Love, in Snohomish, April 7th, 1919. He was born July 4th 1835 . He not only knew much of the hardships and privations of a soldiers life but something of the sufferings of a prisoner of war in a rebel prison. Be it resolved that we, the comrades of Morton Post charter be draped in mourning for a period of thirty days as a token of our memory and respect for a departed comrade. The funeral of Comrade Love of the G.A.R. will be held tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. at C.H. Bakeman's chapel under the auspices of Morton Post #10. Interment will be made in the G.A.R. cemetery Snohomish G.A.R. Cemetery Love Charles B. 7-4-1835 4-7-1919 G.A.R. 2nd Oh Cav Co. Monroe Monitor 5 September 1957 Karl Lund Services To Be Tomorrow Funderal services for Karl Lund, 75, of Sam Street, will be held Saturday in the Congregational Church at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Wallace Lanchester officiating. Mr. Lund died September 4 in a Seattle hospital after a long illness. Born in Norway on June 6, 1882, Mr. Lund came to Monroe from Norway in 1917, and had lived here for the past 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Anna, in Norway; two daughters, Mrs. Harriett Ohlsen of Tacoma, formerly of Monroe, and Mrs. Thelma Kramer of Seattle; a son, Charles Lund of Seattle; two brothers, John Lund of Seattle and Christen Lund in Norway, and four sisters in Norway and six grandchildren. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Purdy and Kerr of Monroe. Everett Daily Herald November 5, 1910 The funeral of Emil LUNDEN, who dropped dead at Sultan, was held at Undertaker Challacombe's chapel yesterday afternoon. LUNDEN's sole relative, so far as could be ascertained, is a sister in Finland. Everett Herald 5 September 1977 Frances R. Lundstedt, 76, of Marysville, died Sept. 4 in a local hospital. She was born May 12, 1901 at Wilbur, Nebraska. She moved to South Dakota as a child. She was married to Adolph Lundstedt in 1923. They came to Everett in 1936 and Marysville in 1938. She was the past Noble Grand of the Shining Star Rebecca Lodge of Marysville and past president ofthe Marysville Garden Club. She had been active in several local associations. She leaves a daughter, Evelyn May Smouse of Austin, Texas; 8 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Adolph and two sons, Red and Whitey. Graveside services are Wednesday at 2:30 at the Marysville Cemetery. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home.
