Response: Washington Territory took a census in 1871, 1883, 1885. 1887, &
1889, 1892. The originals are in the state archives, but at least the '85, '87, & '89 are on
microfilm and available through the LDS Family History Centers.

- Looking for Jack Gordon BARBER'S mother, Alice GREEN.
Jack and his sister were b. in Riveira, TX, @1909. Jack's father, John
BARBER moved to the state of WA, @1911 with the children.
Apparently they divorced, and John BARBER left and went to CA.
I do not know if Alice stayed. My grandfather, Jack BARBER grew
up in Olympia, and had worked in Shelton. I believe his Uncle, George
BARBER, was his guardian. Jack BARBER, m. Ila Marie VERNER, @1944,
and had 2 children of their own, with many more foster children, and
at least one adopted child. If anyone has info on the whereabouts of
Alice GREEN BARBER or John BARBER, it would be greatly appeciated.

My grandfather, Jack G. Barber, b. 1909 TX; came to WA in a covered
wagon. My grandfather never talked about his boyhood or his parents, all I've
been left with is bits and pieces of oral history. His parents's were
Edward Barber, b. @1880 and Alice Green, b. @1880; a sister,
Lois Sowers, b. 1907. Edward and Alice div. soon after coming to WA,
Edward went to CA. Edward's brother, George Barber lived in Shelton,
perhaps b. NY. Any help appreciate.

- Looking for Jack Beatty, Jr. who lived in WA. His parents lived
near VanBuren, AR. My grandfather, Willie Beatty, b. Apr 7, 1890 was Jack, Sr's
brother. They were raised by foster parents in the Jenny Linn area. I believe
Jack, Sr's wife's name was Flo. I have very little information on the Beatty
family, but I believe there were several other siblings of Willie and Jack.

Bellinger was born March, 1851 in Richfield Twp. Genesee Co, MI,
son of Johnas Fredric and Mary "Polly" CURTIS BELLINGER. Addison
removed from Michigan by 1870 to California; m. Callie Shoemacher,
b. Nov 1864, Iowa. Children: Charles A, b. March 1882; Carl E, b. July 1883;
Etta M., b. September 1885; Ernest, b. Jan 1889. I believe all the
children were born in San Mateo Co., California. In 1890's famliy
relocated to King Co. WA to be near Addison's sister, Fanny Fidelia
BELLINGER CONKLIN. Fanny died in Seattle, King Co. WA on
2 May, 1914 and is buried in Tacoma, Pierce Co., WA. She and husband
George P. CONKLIN had no children. If this is the family that you are

Spokane for many years, but died in Vancouver, B.C. on August 31,1912. I

married, not widowed. I would like to find her husband's
and children's names as she is the 1/2 sister of my g-g-grand-

in Mexican America War of 1846, lived in Bond County, Illinois until he led a wagon
train from there to Whitman County. Four of Calvin's children, three married
daughters and one unmarried son. Martha Evelina Carey, Mary Frances(Mace)

who died 18 Feb. 1931 in Bellingham, WA, Amanda Miller Wolfe, and my
grandfather
Theodore Augustus Brown came west with him. Calvin died 1882 in Clinton
area
near present day Pullman of Whitman County. His wife Nancy Spratt lived till 1910.
In 1974 Louise Bowman Maxwell of Maple Valley, WA and Rose E.
Rowe of Seattle, WA
were also researching Calvin and his father Wilson Brown, who married at least

- I have the names of a number of people who came to Oregon from Iowa and vicinity
in 1852, but who do not seem to have stayed any length of time in OR (at least not
long enough to be counted in the 1860 census). I have checked in CA, realizing that
many young men wandered among the various gold mining areas before they settled
somewhere. Still, no luck. I did find a couple of folks who eventually ended up in
WA Territory, so maybe some of my "missing" people did too. Do any of these names
ring a bell in Washington?: Mr. Dickey; D. Fields; J.B. [Ben] Roberts;

b. 12 Jan 1857, TN; moved to TX; m. Mr. PAGET. After his death,
she moved to Washington , @1884-85; m. Henry C. EHLERS, a farmer
and gold miner, 16 August 1885. Children: John, d. age 6; Frederick B.;
James P.; Laura. Source is a short piece in a book on history of Palo
Pinto County TX, where Nancy DOBBS' relatives settled. Piece states
that Henry EHLERS was one of the "first settlers". Unknown if this
refers to all of WA or to a specific area. Unknown where Henry and Nancy
lived in WA. Will exchange info with others- have extensive info on the
DOBBS relatives who remained in TX. Thanks!

- Seeking descendants of Francis Robert DRAKE, 1861 - 1909 and his
wife Ellen BAXTER and their three children, Francis
Laurence, Dorothy Ellen, and Walter Augustus, who entered the
U.S from England in 1890. Francis Robert was, for a time,
Company Secretary to the "Inland Telegraph and Telephone
Company"of Spokane. He died in Seattle in 1909.

- I am trying to find the family of Robert John and Lavina Duncan. They left
Ontario, Canada i 1898, came west, settled in WA. I have narrowed the search to
Hamilton, Acme, and Sedro Wooley [Skagit co.] between 1898 - 1908. Are there city
directories available for this area? Children b. WA: Mary Elizabeth; Francis Viola;
Lavina May; Robert John. There is a grave yard near Acme? [Whatcom co.] I am told
to get to it one must cross the railroad tracks and go up a hill. I have a picture
of the stone, with a small lamb on top, for Frances, but it is difficult to read. Does
anyone live close to this area and could read the stone and report the dates to me?
Grandfather, Robert John, moved to WA to be near relatives. Have found 2 cousins
buried in Bellingham: Elizabeth Isabelle Duncan 1885-1947 and Robert A.
Duncan, 1888-1967. I have not found their sister or parents: Mary Ann
Duncan, 1887-1919, may have gone to ID; Robert and Mary Perry Duncan
may have gone to CA. If you are related to this family or know family members, please
