Tom O'Neil---SALMON PUDDING---Thur. Feb. 4, 1999
This writer grew up in Tokeland in Pacific County. My query is not directly connected to genealogy, but Pacific County history. In reading a gazzateer of old businesses, I found something intriquing: In 1908, in Altoona there was a listing that read, "Columbia River Preserving Company, William Dixon, Pres., packers of Columbia River Salmon Pudding." Has any one ever heard of this product? tom21420@comcast.net
Note:  Mr. O'Neil passed away in 2004.  Bruce Weilepp, Director, Pacific County Historical Society, adds, "I have heard of similar canned salmon products intended for "heat and serve" preparation from the early 20th Century.  Two books on early Columbia River canneries are planned for publication some time next year (2006).  The author, Irene Martin, has her own website now."

John Griffin---BULLARD---Thursday February 4, 1999
I am looking for information on Mark W. Bullard who founded the town of Lakeview, Oregon. He settled Lakeview in 1868 and sold out in 1875 or 76. Could he be the same Mark W. Any information will be greatly appreciated. bgriffin@triax.com
