Ladwig, at the home; 10 sons, Clarence Ladwig, Yakima; Wilfred Ladwig, Spokane; Bruce Ladwig, Baker, OR; Harold Ladwig, East Port, Idaho; Marion Ladwig, Pullman, WA; Kenneth Ladwig, Centralia, IL; Allen Ladwig, Columbus, GA; Gary Ladwig, Spokane; Rodney Ladwig, Davenport, WA; Vernon Ladwig, Wilbur, WA; four daughters, Mrs. Louise Barr, Spokane; Mrs. Shirley Pooley, Seattle, WA; Mrs. Sharon Groh, Almira, WA; Mrs. Marlene Lupfer, Deer Park, WA; 30 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. “Mrs. Emilie Rettkowskie, administratrix of the estate of William A. Ladwig, Wilbur, filed a petition in the superior court charging that Harold Miller, former partner of Mr. Ladwig in an electrical appliance business at Wilbur, and Nadine Campbell, have concealed assets of the estate and have collected money and disposed of goods belonging to the estate. She asks for an accounting. Mr. Miller and Nadine Campbell were cited to appear in court on Nov 16 to answer.” (Odessa Record: 11-04-1937)

 

Lane, Frances; ( b. 1863, d. 1930) 160/3  

Mrs. Frances Lane, who years ago was the proprietor of a hotel here, recently passed away in Umatilla, Oregon. Her body was brought from that place Saturday and placed in the family plot in the Wilbur Cemetery.” (Reardan Gazette: 3-27-1930)

“Jennie M. Lauritzen.—An 82 year resident of Wilbur, WA. Survived by 2 brothers, Alfred B. Jansen, Wilbur, WA; Sigward T Hansen, Pasco, WA; 3 sisters, Mrs. Earl Genzberger, Butte, MT; Mrs. Helga Bossler and Miss Thyra Hansen, both Spokane; numerous nieces and nephews. A member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Wilbur, WA, Tuscan Chapter OES for the past 60 years, a member of the Wilbur Civic Club. Funeral services Saturday, Jan 20 at 2 p.m. form the Community Presbyterian Church, Wilbur, WA. The Rev Malcolm McCallum officiating. Burial Wilbur, WA, Cemetery. “Victor A. Lauritzen.—His home, Wilbur, WA. Survived by his wife Jennie M. Lauritzen, at the home; one sister, Mrs. Wilhelmina Hansen, Riverview Terrace, Spokane; nieces and nephews. A 60-year member of Tuscan Lodge No. 81, F & AM. A member of the Eastern Star. Funeral services Wednesday, May 21, at 2 p.m. form the Community Presbyterian Church, Wilbur, WA. Rev Kenneth J. Lesnett, Hosea; ( b. Dec 15, 1899, d.  Jul 26, 1996)  93/10  

“Graveside service for Hosea B. Lesnett of Davenport was held Tuesday at the Wilbur Cemetery. A memorial service followed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Davenport, with Pastor Mark Egertson officiating. Mr. Lesnett died July 26, 1996 in Davenport. He was 96.  He is survived by his wife, Helen, at the home; one son, Paul Lesnett of Seattle; and two grandchildren.  He belonged to the Zion Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.” (Davenport Times:  8-01-1996)

 

Lewis, Evan H.; ( b. Jan 11, 1860, d. Jun 20, 1910)  71/2   

Evan H. Lewis of Wilbur, a plumber by trade, died of tuberculosis at his home in that city Monday, June 20th. Mr. Lewis was an honorable man and leaves a family of wife and 4 children. (Citizen) 

 

Llewellyn, James H.; ( b. 1890, d. 1973)  198/12  

“James H. Llewellyn.—His home Wilbur, WA. A member of the IOOF Lodge, Tuscan Lodge No. 81, F & AM, Tuscan Chapter OES, Elkster Shrine, Member of the Big Bend Historical Society and Wilbur Lutheran Church. Survived by his wife, Mary E. Llewellyn, at the home; 5 sons, J. Mason Llewellyn, Ralph Llewellyn, both Wilbur, WA; Burton Llewellyn, Squire, Seattle; Wallace DeBorg, Pasco, WA; James Christiansen, Spokane; one daughter, Mrs. Joy Llewellyn Rux, Wilbur, WA; 17 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday, July 20, 10:30 a.m. from the Wilbur Lutheran Church, Pastor A. F. Gerstmann officiating. Interment Wilbur, WA, Cemetery. Louderback, Houston; ( b. 1860, d. 1947)  news 1937, 128/9

“Houston Louderback, Wilbur, with two brothers, total 247 years of age. His oldest brother is 87, survived the tragedy that swept away an entire Ohio town in the recent flood. These two brothers have not seen each other in 49 years. The other brother, in Kentucky, is 83 and Mr. Louderback will be 77 in April. Mr. Louderback’s mother was 93 years old when she died and his father reached 75.” (Odessa Record: 3-25-1937; Houston lived another ten years after this article, and died in 1947 with burial in the Wilbur City Cemetery.)

Lyse, Mrs. Nels I., ( b. Oct 08, 1834, d. Aug 10, 1904)   2/3

“Mrs. Nels I. Lyse died at her home in Wilbur August 10, at 12:30 a.m.  She recently contracted cold that resulted in cholera morbus which was the immediate cause of death. She was born in Denmark, Oct 8, 1834, emigrated to America 1873, located at Clinton, Iowa, and resided there eight years when she removed to Wilbur where they have lived ever since. She united in marriage with Nels I. Lyse Nov 13, 1854. To them have been born fourteen children of whom seven are dead. Four boys and three girls are left with the husband to mourn the loss of the dear mother and wife. They boys are Nels, Pete, Julius and Martin, and the girls are, Mrs. David Thomson, Mrs. Pete Foldberg and Mrs. P. Viancour.—Wilbur Sentinel.” (Citizen: 8-19-1904)( Elsie Marie w/o Nels I.)
