Spring Creek Cemetery is located in SE ¼ of SE ¼ of Sec 22 Twp 26 N Range 39, 4 miles NE of Reardan. This land was originally patented by John Surber, issued on 11-23-1891 and defined as 160 acres in the S ½ of the S ½ of Sec 22 Twp 26N Range 39. This land was owned by Fred B Barnard as shown on the 1911 Atlas. See more information about the cemetery on Page A

Emley, Abraham H; {b. 10-18-1822; d. 7-31-1898; h/o Susan.} “Crescent Crumbs. Febr’y 15th. Mr Emley, Sr, whose health has been failing for some time, is now entirely helpless, with small hope of recovery.” (LCT: 2-18-1898) {Edit: Abraham H Emley was reportedly born Oct 18, 1822 in Burlington Co, NJ. He was married twice, Rebecca Toy, who died in 1856 in NJ, having mothered two children, Ella and Eliza. Abraham remarried in Sidney, Shelby Co, OH on Oct 14, 1858. Four children were born to Abraham and Susan Hoover Emley: William E (1863-1944), David C (1866-1937), Thomas E (1869-1960) and Lovia Bell (1873-1939). Lovia Bell married Wm Wiley Landreth in Crescent on Nov 7, 1894.

Wm Emley was born 1-30-1863 in Sidney, Shelby Co, Ohio and died Jan 3, 1944 in Lincoln Co, WA. Zillia Dye Emley was born 18 May 1868 in Franklin, Shelby Co, Ohio. She married Wm Emley on Jan 10, 1889 in Sidney, Shelby Co, Ohio. Zillia died 12-04-1958 in Spokane, WA.}

Four children were known to be born to them: William E (1863), David C (1866), Thomas E (1869) and Lovia B (1873). Following Abraham’s death, Susan resided with her son Thomas and his family in Shelby Co, OH in 1900. She returned to Lincoln Co, WA with Thomas.

Garber, Agnes C; b. 11-18-1922; d. 6-26-2002; “Reardan.—Memorial service for Agnes C Garber, 79, took place Monday, July 1, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Reardan, with Pastor Dave Kappus officiating. Private family inurnment will be scheduled at a later date in the Spring Creek Cemetery. Mrs Garber died June 26 at her home in Reardan. Born Nov 18, 1922, in Espanola to Henry and Fannie Weyen, she graduated from Reardan High School and attended Washington State College in Pullman for two years. She married Henry Garber in Reardan on June 15, 1948. She belonged to Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Reardan, Spring Creek Grange and TOPS. She was an avid bridge player and reader who wrote many book reviews. She also enjoyed cooking, fishing and music. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Garber. She leaves her husband at the home; a son, Jay (and Diane) Garber of Reardan; a daughter, Kay (and Bill) Finney of Corbett, OR; three grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Bernice Garber of Seattle; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gray, Spencer Thomas; {b. 8-27-1998; d. 12-19-1999.} “Memorial service was held Wednesday at Reardan Presbyterian Church for 1-year old Spencer Thomas Gray of Reardan, who passed away Dec 19 in Spokane. Pastor Bill Ward officiated. Interment was at Spring Creek Cemetery in Reardan. Spencer was born on Aug 27, 1998, to Jason and Inge (Edwards) Gray in Spokane. He is survived by his parents; brothers, Andrew and his twin, James; and sister, Charlene Gray, all of Reardan. Other survivors are grandparents, Ed and Becky Gray of Reardan; grandparents Tom Edwards and Joan Weitman, both of Spokane; great grandparents Esther Gray of Reardan, and Jim and Audrey Wilke of Davenport; great grandparents Charles and Isabella Weitman, and Herman and Carol Crandall, all of Omak, and Stan Edwards of Redmond. Mr Greifendorff was born Sept 30, 1909 in St Paul, MN. His parents were Leo August Greifendorff and Agnes Cecilia Harrison. He had a brother, Bud , and a sister, Ruth. In Oct 1911, he was baptized into the Evangelical faith. His conversion to Catholicism came at the age of 13, in 1924. He was raised in St Paul where his father worked for the Great Northern Railroad. He graduated from high school there in 1929. That same year Mr Greifendorff joined his father and worked for the Great Northern Railroad at various jobs. His route was from St Paul to Seattle with a stopover in Spokane. On one of those stopovers in 1934, he met Mildred Childs at a dance. Two years later on Sept 22, 1936, they were married at the Cathedral of Our Lady Lourdes in Spokane. They settled in Seattle. IN Nov 1946, they adopted a son, John Leo. Mr Greifendorff took an early retirement from the railroad in 1971. He and his wife moved to Reardan and lived on the Childs’ ranch until they bought a home in town. In 1986, the couple celebrated its 50th wedding anniversary. Services were held Jan 27 in the chapel of the Strate Funeral Home, Davenport. Father John Rompa officiated. Burial was in the Spring Creek Cemetery north of Reardan.” (Davenport Times: 2-09-1989)
