Reardan Cemetery is located at the Southeast edge of Reardan in the NW1/4 of SE1/4 of Sec. 15 Twp 25N Range 39EWM. Also known as the Reardan IOOF Cemetery, it was dedicated in September of 1894. In the 1911 Atlas it is on page 121 and the 1960 Atlas it is listed on page 69. I grew up in Reardan & my dad had the cemetery records. I have added names, obits, and other information of the people buried there. I included all the burials, and then included the obits that I have. There are 3 burials which were not in the cemetery records (Byrd, Dittmar, and Brandenberg) but according to death records, etc, they are buried at the Reardan Cemetery. All 3 died before the big Reardan fire, so I was thinking maybe some of the cemetery records were lost in the fire.

Louisa Maria Bergeron was the last surviving child of Henry and Gesina Brommer. The first two children, John and Herman, were born in Germany. Louisa, and later Peter, were born at Reardan at the farm before Reardan was officially incorporated in 1903. Born on May 18, 1900, Louisa was born a premature baby. A Monarch stove oven was her incubator and a shoebox her Isolette. The doctor told her mother that Louisa would not live long. Confounding the predictions, Louisa lived to the venerable age of 92 years and 28 days and died on June 15, 1992. Louisa was baptized on July 8, 1900, and confirmed on June 7, 1914, in the Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church at Reardan. After completing both primary and secondary education in Reardan, Louisa worked at Raymer's Hardware and then in the Reardan Post Office where she met Albert Bergeron whom she married on May 15, 1929. After marriage the couple departed for Nome, Alaska, where they lived for three years. Albert prospected and engaged in the fur trade while Louisa worked in a local restaurant until the birth of Harvey and Clifford kept her fully occupied at home. Returning to Reardan, the couple purchased and leased farm land (the final purchase being completed in 1961) and farmed for 28 years until retiring to the old Brommer home in 1961. Louisa was a good homemaker known for baking excellent bread rolls for many community events. She loved to quilt have gone far and wide to serve the needy through Lutheran World Relief. Louisa often went fishing with her husband and on one occasion caught the biggest fish of the season at Balfour, Canada. Louisa was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, who died on April 5, 1976, and by her oldest son, Harvey, who died in 1979. Left to mourn the death of Louisa are: four children: Clifford of Reardan; Jimmie of Houston, Texas; Mary of Seattle; and Marlene of Lake George, New York. Fifteen grandchildren: Cathy, Linda and Robert - children of Harvey; Greg, Jeff, Kristine and Melissa - children of Clifford; James and Michelle - children of Jimmie; Steve, Michael, Catherine Mary and Jimmy - children of Mary; and Mark and Shelley - children of Marlene. Ten great grandchildren: three born to Cathy and two to Linda, two to Steve, two to Catherine, and one to Shelley; and many other friends and relatives. Louisa expressed her Christian faith in a beautiful and simple way throughout her life and graced the Emmanuel congregation with her presence this last Sunday, June 14th. May our good Lord bless her memory to all who mourn her. [Funeral Program]

Mrs. Bergeron died on Saturday, July 6, 1985 after a lingering about with cancer.  She will be remembered by the community of Reardan as a leader in the 4-H program of that area, and for her involvement in other activities and projects of the community, report those who knew her.  Mrs. Bergeron seemed to maintain a low profile, but remained in strong support of the activities in which she was involved, her acquaintances said. She was very active in a Bible Study Fellowship group in Spokane; and had been very active in the Lutheran Church of Reardan, but this actually diminished during recent months because of illness. Her faith in God and family remained adamant in intensity, those who knew her say.  She was able to live to see her daughter, Kristin, ride the Reardan float as the Junior Miss of Reardan in 1985. Nancy Bergeron was born on Aug 16, 1939 in Seattle ; and was a graduate of the University of  Washington and a member of the Alumni Association. She was also a member of the Alpha Phi association.    A Celebration of Life Memorial for Cindy Burge, well known equestrian competitor and coach, will be held Wednesday, August 4th at 4 p.m. at Deep Creek Farm. It will be preceded by a private burial service at the Reardan Cemetery. Cindy, born October 8, 1963 in Ellensburg, died July 28th in Missoula from injuries sustained during competition in the Kalispel area. Renowned for her skill and toughness as a competitor in the horse sport called Eventing she was beloved across the nation for her kindness, humor and unwavering sportsmanship. A graduate of Eastern Washington University anticipating a career as an English teacher, she instead followed her childhood passion to become one of the nation's top equestrian coaches as well as a prominent competitor on the East Coast as well as in the West. At the time of her death she was training her new horse imported from England for national and hopefully, international competition. She had traveled extensively abroad searching for promising horses for American competitors. The daughter of businessman/horse authority, Ed Burge, and note educator Sally Burge, Cindy developed at their horse farm a Competition Center second to none in the Pacific Northwest, where in June she hosted over 300 American and Canadian competitors at the 23rd Annual Deep Creek Horse Trials. Its success reflected Cindy's work as its organizer & her dedicated leadership in the Eventing world. The United States Eventing Association awarded her its credentials as one of eight advanced teachers in the nation and she had served on the USEA Rules Committee for two years. As a junior she was a four-time member of the team representing the Pacific Northwest at the International Young Riders Championships winning the individual Silver Medal in 1982 and was the team's 2004 coach for the upcoming championships. A graduate of Cheney High School where she was Student Body President, she nurtured the children of this region as a coach in the Pony Clubs program hosting their camps at the family farm. She also served the 4-H program as judge. Cindy is survived by her husband, Jerry Ackerman; her parents; her sister, Debbie Dillon of Lakeside, MT; her brother, Curt Burge of Spokane; two nieces, Georgia Dillon and Katy Burge and two nephews, Dwight Dillon and Jace Burge and aunts and uncles. The family has designated a Memorial Fund at Wheatland Bank to provide training for an outstanding novice rider who serves Eventing behind the scenes. Memorials can also be made to the Deep Creek Horse Trials.
