The family moved back to North Dakota, finally setting in Washburn. Ruth graduated from high school in Washburn in 1932. She married Adolph James (A. J.) Weber, whom she had met while living in Jamestown, ND. During the Great Depression, Ruth migrated to the West, finally settling in Odessa, where A. J. worked on a construction crew. A son, Dellas James Weber was born of the marriage on Nov 13, 1939, in Odessa. During World War II, Ruth and Dellas moved to Tacoma, where she worked for the Army Corps of Engineers at the Mount Rainier Ordinance Depot as a forklift operator and draftsman. In 1946, A. J. and Ruth started their own construction business as general contractors, designing and building homes, churches, grain elevators and home remodeling. They later sold that unit and concentrated on construction business. After retiring from the construction business in the mid-1960s, A. J. and Ruth operated feedlot operations on the old Lyons and Reisenauer place. They went into full retirement in the early 1970’s, when A. J .became ill with heart disease. Since that time, Ruth had been active in community affairs. She gave her services to many Deutschesfests and was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church. She was an avid bowler and member of a bowling league, participating in many statewide tournaments. She also assisted in clearing snow from the parking lots with her tractor. Buried: Odessa Cemetery, Odessa, WA.” (Lincoln Co Health death card) “Graveside services were held on Jan 8, 1981 for William F. (Bott) Weber, who passed away Friday, Jan 2, 1981, at Odessa Memorial Hospital. He was 85 years, 7 months and 19 days old. William F Weber, better know as Bott Weber, was born the son of Christian and Elizabeth (Frederick) Weber, May 13, 1895, in Fessenden, North Dakota. He was one of thirteen children, nine boys and four girls. In 1910 he came with his parents to Odessa. He served in the army during World War I as a musician stationed at Fort Lewis, until the end of the war. After the war William Swarts and William Weber became partner in a business in Odessa which they managed until they sold it and bought another business at Metaline Falls, WA. They managed that business until they retired and returned to Odessa. In 1975 they bought the house formerly owned by Tony Neves, where they lived. Mr. Swarts passed away suddenly in 1979. A remarkable thing about Mr. Swarts and Mr. Weber was that for about 42 years they were not only partners in business, but lived together as brothers until death parted them. Mr. Weber had been in ill health for several years, but not until the death of his partner, was he forced to become a resident of the Odessa Convalescent Center. In spite of his illness and the fact that his hearing was very poor he attended the Thursday evening Gospel Singing at the Center. William Weber was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and three sisters.
